New Release: Berlin Bound

Congratulations to my son Ivan Berkowitz on his new album, Berlin Bound, that was just released on the ICONYC Noir label.

As we move into the autumn and winter season, we're super excited to welcome Houston & Hamburg based duo Ivan Berkowitz & Matiso to ICONYC Noir with their brand new 4 track 'Berlin Bound EP' to warm the hearts.
We kick things off with the title track 'Berlin Bound' which features an amalgamation of smooth bass tones, subtle drum programming, a cleverly chopped samples and intricately weaved chord progressions, building to a beautiful breakdown before gradually rebuilding the elements to an unrelenting crescendo of breathy synth licks, chord stabs and an ever-warped bassline.
Next up is the title track 'Magnetic' which is a stripped back affair utilizing a hypnotizing chord as the basis of the track underpinned by a staccato rhythm that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks percussive elements before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect. Fantastic stuff!
With 'Wisdom of Experience' Ivan & Matiso deliver and outstanding track that starts to delve into deeper territory, which sees lush pads fused with chord hits underpinned by the duo's trademark bass patterns, before all manner of varied melodies weave in and out of the stereo field; proving the duo's superb production chops and diverse musical tapestry.
Last but not least the duo provides 'The Foundry of False Hope' to close out their fine debut on ICONYC Noir in style, showcasing beautiful orchestral strings and luscious drum programming to create a lovely grove, which really augments the flow of the track. Ivan & Matiso show their love for melodic and deep FX, which are oozing of coolness and are accentuated by warm pads that feel like a silky blanket of sonic spheres, which wrap you into an alluring soundscape.
Ivan Berkowitz & Matiso's 'Berlin Bound' is a lovely mind-bending collection of tracks that are wrapped in a smooth blanket of warming sounds for the progressive house loving sound aficionado.
